In 2010 Jesko Sirvend has been working as guest conductor with the ”State Music Ensemble Halle” and the ”German Philharmonic Orchestra Rhineland-Palatinate”. He also assisted Mario Venzago during the 118th work stage of the “German National Youth Orchestra”. In March he was made one of the active participants of “Interaction – the VIII. conducting workshop” with the “Critical Orchestra®” in Berlin.
In 2009 he was a scholar of the Richard Wagner Association of Cologne. Furthermore, after participating in the “Malko Competition“ in Copenhagen, Prof. Jorma Panula invited him to join his conductors seminar, organised as a part of the 50th Weimar Master Classes. In September he received the “Rhine-Moselle Music Award“ and became music director of the ”Heidelberg Academic Philharmonic Orchestra”.
Jesko Sirvend assisted Prof. Stephan E. Wehr with a Cologne University production of Benjamin Brittenʼs opera “Albert Herring” (direction: Prof. Igor Folwill) in 2008. He has attended master classes of Prof. Gunter Kahlert (The Liszt School of Music Weimar), Prof. Johannes Schlaefli (Zurich University of the Arts), Prof. Colin Metters (Royal Academy of Music London) and Prof. Ulrich Windfuhr (with the “Leipzig MDR Symphony Orchestra“).
Since 2006 Jesko Sirvend has been studying under Prof. Michael Luig of the Cologne University of Music and Dance. His prior education includes courses in drums and the piano at the Dr. Hoch’s Conservatory in Frankfurt.
